Reservation Policy and Important Notes
Finca Cuipo is a private family residence. Guests are expected to enjoy the facilities and treat the property with the same respect and care they would their own home.
Please read the IMPORTANT NOTES and our TERMS AND CONDITIONS, before making a booking.
IMPORTANT NOTES
➢ Adults only:
Safety is extremely important to us. And although we love children, we respectfully only allow accompanied minors above 12 years at our finca. The finca is located in the mountains, in an open area without any fences and we also have a swimming pool which doesn't count with a fence either.
➢ Wild animals:
Finca Cuipo is a nature lodge. Having said that we cannot avoid having wild animals & insects around. Every now and then we encounter snakes and spiders. It is rare, since they do not like our presence. But don’t you worry: They are friendly, as long as you are friendly :). We do our best to protect our guests from them (our bungalows have mosquito nets).
Other risks involved in a rainforest include but are not limited to falling trees and branches. These risks exist while hiking, walking around our property or residing in any of our structures including the bungalows and common area.
➢ Finca access:
We are located in the mountains, about 1,6 km (1 mile) from the main road. The finca can be accessed by a 4x4 or a motorbike. If you visit us with your own vehicle that is not a 4WD, you may leave it in a parking spot near the main road and help you to organize transport to the finca. Kindly note, that the road to our finca is a dirt road!
The nearest airport is in Santa Marta (SMR). Airport transfers can be arranged on request. Charges apply.
➢ Moving around the finca:
Our bungalows are around 50 meters away from the common area, where the pool is located. To reach them, it is a short walk downhill. And if you would like to explore the finca and see the fruit trees, you should be motivated to walk up and down the mountain. It's a great workout :)
➢ Natural setting: Finca Cuipo is a distraction-free nature lodge: Having said that we do not have WIFI at the property and cell phone reception is limited due to the mountainous location. The bungalows do not have TV or radio. The bungalows do not have hot water, but we assure you that the warm climate invites for a fresh water shower from the mountains :). We advise our guests not to use the outdoor shower after 6 pm in order to avoid disturbance by insects or reptiles.
Bookings are subject to the following TERMS AND CONDITIONS Please read these conditions carefully
The Agreement:

A binding contract between you and the owner will come into existence once payment is received and a booking confirmation is issued.

Failure to disclose all relevant required information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract and loss of the booking.

➢ Booking and Payment:

Please note that we have to collect the payment 2 weeks before the check in date to confirm your reservation.
-
Following your online reservation and receipt of your payment, your booking confirmation will thereafter be validated and confirmed.

Non-payment of sum in due time will result in a cancellation of your booking.

The owner reserves the right to refuse a booking without providing any reason.

➢ Changes to bookings:

Any request to amend dates after confirmation are subject to availability.

➢ Occupancy and Use of Property: (NO PARTIES OR EVENTS ARE PERMITTED)

The maximum number of people lodging at the bungalow at any time is 2 people.

Only those people listed on the booking may occupy and stay overnight in the property.

Sub-letting (even free of charge) is not permitted.
We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice and without refund in case of a breach of these conditions.
Health, Safety and Fire Prevention Rules:
➢ Safety and Environmental Awareness:

Guests at the finca are required to be attentive, cautious and active participants in the prevention and protection against wildfires that careless behavior could easily cause in this typical type of vegetation environmental setting. In particular during dry summer time and windy conditions.

No candles or open flames are permitted, both internally and externally.
➢ Smoking Policy:

Smoking is not permitted inside the bungalow and nor it is permitted in external areas. This includes e-cigarettes. However, there is a dedicated smoking area just outside the property.

If you want to smoke outside the finca, please do not throw your cigarette butts outside, extinguish them and place them in the garbage bins at our property.

➢ Accommodation facilities for disability and wheelchair accessibility:

We are located in the mountains. The entire property is therefore unfortunately not suited for wheelchair mobility.
➢ Pets:
-
Regretfully no pets can be accommodated.
➢ Parking on the premises:
-
Limited to 1 vehicle per bungalow prior reservation. Access to our finca is only possible with a 4x4 or motorbike.
➢ Arrival/Departure:
-
Check in time 14:00 / Check out time 10.00

Guests may arrive and depart at these times. In case of delayed arrival, notification must be advised.

Requests for early check in or late check out are subject to booking occupancy schedule and cleaning time requirement. A surcharge may be applicable.
-
Guest arrival is on a meet and greet arrangement.
➢ Check-in Procedure:

Upon arrival the guests will be required to present the booking reservation confirmation as well as a valid ID or passport for the property owner to keep a copy for record retention purpose as required by Colombian law. Terms and conditions and important notes need to be signed at check in.

A safety deposit depending on the length of your stay is required to cover any extras occurring during your stay and will be returned upon checkout.
➢ Care of the Property:

Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a civil, respectful and responsible manner. And to ensure good care and use of the premises, its content and surroundings. They may not use the property for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, immoral or illegal activities.

We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice and without refund in case where the unreasonable behavior of the people named on the booking is detected and impairing the enjoyment, comfort, health and security of others.
➢ Nuisance:

One of the main attractions of Finca Cuipo is the peaceful and quiet environment and the fact that our guests can get away from the city lights and noise while they enjoy our mountains and sea view.

Guests are encouraged to be respectful and contribute to the tranquil serenity at the finca and the other people residing on site. Quite time is: 21:00 to 07.00 am.
➢ Cleaning:

Cleaning is done once at the beginning and end of the stay for short term stays less than 3 days. This is for environmental purposes. Linen and bath towels are provided, and not permitted off the property.

For long term stays cleaning and change of linen and bath towels is provided twice per week.

In the case a guest should leave the premises in an unacceptable condition upon departure, this will incur an additional cleaning cost charge billed to the guest.
➢ Damage, Loss, Theft:

Any damage / breakage that you notice in your accommodation during your stay should be promptly notified to the property manager, who will endeavor to take corrective measures.

The accommodation is inspected at the end of the stay and you may be charged for any loss, damage or breakage. The charge will be taken from the deposit made at check in.

No liability shall be accepted by us for loss, damage or theft of personal property belonging to guests, either in the property or in/to cars, bicycles or other vehicles left on the property. (Please ensure that you take all your personal belongings with you when leaving the bungalow/finca)

Nor shall liability be accepted by us for accident or injury to guests, either within the property or outside

Please ensure to lock the doors and close the windows when you leave the property unoccupied.

In the case any keys provided are not returned upon departure, this will incur an additional cost of replacement charge billed to the guest.
➢ Complaints Procedure:

Any problem or complaint the guest may encounter during their stay should be advised promptly to the property manager, who will endeavor to take corrective measures. Any such matter reported after the guest’s departure will be handled as appropriate for future improvement and customer satisfaction.
➢ Force Majeure and Cancellation by Property Manager:

In exceptional adverse circumstances beyond our control (e.g. war, civil strife, terrorist action, flood, fire, sickness, bad weather, epidemics, acts of any government or public authority, or any other such event) we reserve the right to cancel your booking. Notification of the cancellation will be advised as soon as possible and your booking payment will be fully refunded. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.
➢ CORONAVIRUS NOTICE:

For all future bookings we will continue to offer a postponement or a full refund if government regulations prevent your travel arrangements from proceeding. A valid official proof should be provided.
➢ Liability:

The property manager shall not be liable for any temporary defect or malfunction of any equipment, machinery or appliance in the building or surrounding grounds facilities.

No compensation will be given for any temporary outage of electricity or water. Rights are reserved to make amendments or updates to the Terms & Conditions without notice
IN SUMMARY Finca Cuipo assumes no responsibility whatsoever for injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly from: acts of God or natural disasters, adverse weather, detention, annoyance, delays, pandemics, expenses arising from quarantine, strikes, thefts, pilferage, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, terrorism, government restrictions or regulations and discrepancies or changes in transit or hotel services over which we have no control.

Cancellation Policy
Please note that we have to collect the payment 2 weeks before the check in date to confirm your reservation..
Cancellation:
Cancellations must be sent by replying to the booking confirmation email you received from us and must be confirmed as received by Finca Cuipo to be considered valid. Because of our small size and remote location, we need to plan well in advance of our guest staying at the finca. As such, we need to apply strict cancellation policy and we cannot make any exception under any circumstances. We strongly recommend that our guests buy a travel insurance policy. If you are unsure of your travel plans, please consider making a booking closer to the time of your arrival.
â–ª A booking confirmation means the Guest has entered into a legally binding contract. In case of cancellation by the Guest, for whatever reason (including medical and weather related) then the following policy will be applicable.
Cancellation & Refunding policy

If you cancel 10 days before check-in date: FREE CANCELLATION

If you cancel 9 to 4 days before check-in date: First night will be charged

If you cancel 3 days before check-in date: full amount is non-refundable
-
No shows: full amount is non-refundable
